Artists Support Asia - A Call For Help
Sorry for crossposting this, but it's important enough imho.

Artists Support Asia - A Call For Help

By now, everyone will know of what happened in Asia. An earthquake followed by tsunamis has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths, tens of thousands of wounded people and millions of homeless. Now, two days after it happening, help is getting started. And those organisations involved in this need our help. They need money to buy food and whatever other material that is necessary to help people.

Artists Support Asia is calling out for artists to help in their own way. Donate a track, one of your old tracks, one of your unreleased new tracks, or a track especially written for this project, to Artists Support Asia. We will be compiling these tracks into compilation cd-r's and sell them. All proceeds will be donated to the International Red Cross.

Artists! Want to help out? Join us now! Go to http://www.artistssupportasia.org/forum/ to show your interest in joining this project. Let's make a statement! Let's tell the world that independant artists can also show they care! Let's raise money to help all those affected by this terrible disaster.

This will include a 10 minute live set and an interview. It can be streamed from here.. http://www.bcb.yorks.com/

It should be a good laugh.

I was working at one of my stores today, and the display that I was working on was close to the milk coolers. A mother and her 3 small children walked by, and the oldest boy spotted a carton of goat milk.

"Look Mom" He yelled out..... then he continued to sing a song he wrote himself. Inspired by his goat milk sighting.

"Goatse Goat, goatse goat gooooooaaaaatse goat."

I instantly thought of you.

A fight you can't win?
As some may know I am an active member of the online music forum Online Music World. Except about music, on this forum most of the times we talk about anything you can think of. Every once in a while though, a very interesting music-related thread comes by. This is one of them.

Topic here is the legal fight between Rob Vining, owner of RadioAid, and Clear Channel, the rediculously huge media-imperium from the USA that is even gaining ground in Europe, for instance by their take over of Mojo. Clear Channel can singlehandedly decide what the USA is listening to, thanks to them owning over 1200 radio stations across the USA. According to Rob, the small and independant artists are the victim of this near-monopoly.

To make his stance on this topic clear, two years ago he registered the domainname www.clearchannelsucks.net. In a recent ruling of the National Arbitration Forum Rob Vining was told to hand over the domainname to Clear Channel, because he is using the domain (which contains the Clear Channel trademark) for his own benefit (so says the ruling!), as it directed visitors to his "commercial" website RadioAid. Rob Vining, on the other hand, says he registered the domainname to make his stance clear against the enormous power Clear Channel holds over the American music market.

Vining isn't stopping at this ruling though. He's started a counter-attack. At the moment, he is raining funds to start a lawsuit against Clear Channel to get control over the domainname back. But also to make clear that people should not just accept the music they are hearing on the radio. There is so much and better music on the world that only a selected group of people here because the artists can't buy themselves into the world of popular music.

I have decided to support him in this. And of course, this will always need more support! So click on the banner below to help Rob in his fight.

okay, so we are basically revamping the #musika community with a message board and a new improved web-based chat

check out the site: http://www.blipsqueaks.com

please go ahead and register on the message board, for right now it's just another random place to cause trouble... we'll let it evolve on its own, so the place is whatever you make of it and all of that.

ok enjoy bye

okay so i was thinking

no one ever really uses #musika anymore, no one ever really uses (fill in the blank) anymore, so maybe it's time for something new. i'm not sure what yet though. but there's a lot of people i don't really talk to anymore because i used to know them through various communities, and then once the communities got boring and died out there was nothing to talk about or do anymore...

so i'm not sure exactly what i want to do, but i want to create something fun, non-serious, but something worthwhile that people will want to check out. i don't think we need another musik bboard obviously, but i need something that is well, fun.

does this make any sense? basically tell me, if i was to create an internet community, what would you want to see and what would keep you coming back? i actually have a lot of goofy ideas here, but you go first

SMG / Christ Analogue
Sup guys?

Anyone going to see Sister Machine Gun and Christ Analogue? Even though I almost always get bored at shows these days I'm actually pretty excited this time... I've wanted to see SMG for a long time (They'd always play 21+ shows at bars when I was a kid) and never minded Christ Analogue.

Go check out the tour at http://www.dominationtour.com to see if they're coming to your town!

hey i just thought of something else that is badass about pittsburgh.

you know how there's a town there called OAKLAND? you could like, totally listen to mc hammer, too short, and lofat in your car and when they rap about oaktown you could totally pretend that they are really talking about oakland, pa. and feel like a badass.

which gawthic lj community is more g0th?

if s.j.h. (a.k.a. "slammin' sarah") joined pghgoth then obviously pittsburgh would whip minneapolis' dead white ass. there would simply be no competition. however, it looks like everyone there just talks about how philly is way more g0th and cooler than blitzburgh anyways. so i dunno.

btw. jesus vampires fucked your grandma's butthole kthxbye
